Mr. Thomas E. Mitchell, Jr. short bio
Thomas E. Mitchell, Jr. is Editor at the Milwaukee Community Journal where is responsible for managing, copy-editing, executing layout, and also contributes editorial writing and photography. Thomas pursued and was granted a Bachelor of Arts degree at Concordia University. He also possesses certification in Journalism from Marquette University’s Excel Second Edition Program. Thomas’ career in journalism started in 1983 with an internship at the Milwaukee Courier. His work at the Milwaukee Community Journal began in 1984 as a general assignment reporter, taking on varied writing assignments. For the past year, Mr. Mitchell and his wife of four years, Clarene, lead a couple’s ministry at Brentwood Church of Christ where they are members. They are both active in the Christian Couples Ministry which in monthly meetings, “Strives to encourage couples to discuss the joys and setbacks of marriage. Mitchell and his wife have been working on National Black Marriage Day events for the past four years, and are currently planning 2014 National Black Marriage Day events. Mitchell and Clarene have three adult children, one grandchild, and another on the way.
