A combination of southern hospitality and Midwest charm, Anthony Caples has a spirit that moves you into charting a path of excellent in your own life. With not only a Master’s degree in Divinity, but a passion for youth and violence prevention, Anthony has been a mentor to many people throughout his personal and professional life. Currently, he is the Community Outreach Coordinator with the Medical College of Wisconsin where he is responsible for partnering with over 30 community serving organizations to combine efforts in violence prevention programming.
A native of Milwaukee, graduating from Milwaukee Technical and Trade High School in 1989, Caples made a career move during his undergraduate time to Hunstville, Alabama. While there, he studied broadcasting at Alabama A&M University in Birmingham. In 2002 Caples completed a Bachelors degree in Religion at Grace Christian College in Loris, South Carolina. Anthony continued on with his education, obtaining a Masters of Divinity from Grace Christian College in 2005. The switch from broadcasting to theology isn’t a big surprise to Caples. He sees it all as a part of his ministry, and a greater responsibility to be of service to the community.
Throughout his career, Anthony has worked with a variety of organizations, including social service agencies, the Young Leaders Academy, Milwaukee Public Schools, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (formally Private Industry Council of Milwaukee County). With these organizations, Anthony has been increasingly responsible for program coordination and facilitation of groups that serve youth with mentoring opportunities, safety and case management. Anthony has been married to his wife, Linda for 12 years. They have a 4 year old daughter and attend Community Baptist Church in Milwaukee, WI.

Having a career that blossoms with youth and community service, Capels is a star in his own right, while raising the star of others around him. In his current role as a Community Outreach Coordinator in Violence Prevention Initivate from a public health standpoint, Anthony is involved in nourishing the partnerships of over 30 community organizations working together towards one common goal.
