Attorney Milton L. Childs, Sr.
Milton L. Childs, Sr. is a Public Defender with the Milwaukee Juvenile Court System. Attorney Childs was born and reared in Milwaukee and is a 1981 graduate of Milwaukee Trade and Technical High School. He is also a United States Marine Corps veteran. Childs possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from New Orleans’ Xavier University and a Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Business. After some time in the insurance industry, Childs worked part-time at Messmer High School. It was there, that he developed a keen interest in youth advocacy and furthered his education by earning a Juris Doctorate from Marquette University. Childs opened a law practice in 2004. The next year, he pursued work as a public defender in Sheboygan, Racine, and Milwaukee. In addition to his work as an attorney, Childs is an active, lifelong member of Tabernacle Community Baptist Church and is also Minister of Music and Worship Arts. In this role, he develops weekly worship services with his pastor and manages staff musicians. Trained at the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music, Childs also contributes his musical gifts on the organ, piano, and trumpet. Attorney Childs is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He has also served as an Executive Board Member of the NAACP – Milwaukee Chapter, little league coach, Boy Scout leader, and mentor. He is married to Michelle Buie Childs. The Childs’ are the parents of four adult children, Mia, Melissa, Milton, Jr., and Myles; they are also the grandparents of six.
